Week 11/27 – 12/1

Algebra 2:

  • M: Discuss zeros and roots of polynomial functions. HW 214 – 221
  • T: Go over HW. Discuss Zeros and Roots of Poly Function by factoring. HW 229 – 235
  • W: Go over HW…This will take a while. Discuss Writing polynomials from given zeros. HW: 242 -247
  • Th: Go over home work and prep for quiz
  • F: Quiz and HW is chapter review

Alg1:

  • M: Introduce Inequalities(No homework)
  • T: Discuss Simple Inequalities with add/sub and mult/div.(update – mult/div will be moved to wed)
  • W. Go over homework. Quiz on previous material
  • Th. Discuss 2 step inequalities and compound inequalities. HW form each section.
  • F: Go over HW and quiz if we have time.

Phy:

  • M: Introduce friction and examples
  • T: More friction examples and HW pg 104 – 35, 36, 39
  • W: Go over HW and class work: 40, 43, 49, 50
  • Th: Go over HW and examples
  • F: Quiz over friction problems

Week 11/20-11/24 (Thanksgiving week, 2 days)

Alg2:

  • Mon: Grade quiz from Friday, go over analyzing graphs and tables (pg 13 in classwork), No homework
  • Tues: Go over tables and finding zeroes. IN class HW: pg. 14: 199 – 205. And if time go over zeros and roots of polynomials

AdvAlg:

  • Mon: Start test on systems of equations
  • Tues: Finish Test

Phy:

  • Go over acceleration on inclined planes (no hw)
  • Continue with inclined planes (hw handout, done in class)

Digi:

  • Finish pages that are assigned both days

Week 11/13 – 11/17

Alg 2:

  • 11/13 A practice quiz was given on Friday (short classes.) Review practice quiz, questions, Quiz and grade in class(some classes finished and some will finish Tuesday)
  • 11/14 Go over questions on quiz. Notes on characteristics of polynomial functions (HW: 179 – 191) (Did not get to notes. Students graphed many polynomials in groups to look for patterns.)
  • 11/15 Go over HW. Notes on Analyzing Graphs and Tables of Polynomial Functions: (HW (if time) 199 -205) (Will adjust and go over notes on polynomial characteristics….HW will be 179 – 191)
  • 11/16 Go over HW. Notes on finding roots of polynomial functions (HW: 214 – 221) (This will be moved back to Friday)
  • 11/17 Review the weeks material and quiz if time (HW: NONE)

Phy:

  • 11/13 Free Body Diagram Notes: HW pg 102: 8, 10, 11
  • 11/14 Go over HW. FBD examples HW 12, 13, 16, 17
  • 11/15 Go over HW: Quiz over F = ma
  • 11/16 Grade Quiz in class and review FBD

  • Mon: Quick quiz on factoring. Graded in class and reviewed(update: quiz sent home as homework to be finished.)
  • Tues: Review polynomial division: HW 156-165
  • Wed: Go over HW (short hrs)
  • Thurs: Quiz on polynomial division
  • Fri: Presentation over characteristics of polynomial functions(NO HW)(and Veteran’s Day)

Phy:

  • Mon: Intro Chapter 4 – Force and Motion
  • Tues: Newton’s 3 Laws and Free Body Diagrams – HW pg 101-102: 1 – 7 if time in class.
  • Wed: Finish HW and go over
  • Thur: Finish Wed material and assign 8, 10 – 13, 15
  • Fri: Go over HW questions

AdvAlg:

  • Mon: Review Elimination method: HW (update: students did well on elimination, we practiced a tough problem and assigned choose your method hw)
  • Tues: How to choose method: HW (update: will go over hw and will take the practice quiz)
  • Wed: Practice quiz graded in class
  • Thurs: Word Problems
  • Fri: Word Problems

Week 10/30 – 11/3

  • Monday: Review polynomials and quiz if time
  • Tuesday: Take quiz if needed and review binomial theorem
  • Wednesday: Review factoring and quiz on binomial theorem and factoring
  • Thursday: Quiz if needed Division of polynomials and HW
  • Friday: Catch up if needed or characteristics of polynomials

  • Monday: Review solving linear equations by graphing
  • Tuesday: Solving systems by substitution: HW
  • Wednesday: Solving systems by elimination: HW
  • Thursday: Quiz on 3 methods of solving systems
  • Friday: Catch up if needed or choose your strategy (graph, elimination, substitution)

Physics:

  • Monday: Review projectile motion: HW pg 71: 51 and 53
  • Tuesday: Go over hw and review guide
  • Wednesday: Go over review guide and start test
  • Thursday: Finish Test if necessary

Week 10/23 – 10/ 27

Short week for students  because of parent-teacher conferences

Alg2:

  • Mon: Properties of exponents. HW 7 – 12
  • Tue: Operations with polynomials: HW 43 – 76…this will take 2 days, but because of the schedule, will also work on it Monday next week.
  • Wed: Continue Tuesdays material…the binomial theorem will be covered

AdvAlg:

  • Mon: Practice test
  • Tue: Go over practice test
  • Wed: Test of linear equations

Monday 9/11

Algebra 2: Reviewed factoring binomials (difference of squares, difference of cubes, sum of cubes). ASSIGNED ReQuiz 4 for homework. Graded out of 7 with #5 and #7 extra credit.

Physics: Students finished quiz on horizontal kinematic motion (started on Friday.) After finishing, assigned homework 26, 29, 30 on page 42.

Advanced Algebra: Went over homework on problem solving. (52 – 59). Assigned review at end of packet (1-8)

DigiPhoto: Discussed theme ideas. Students MUST complete a 2 page spread by Friday using the theme they liked most.

Week 9/11 – 9/15

Algebra 2:

  • Monday – Go over factoring HW, assign Re-Quiz 4 from Review of Fundamentals
  • Tuesday – Grade practice quiz, answer questions and take Quiz 4
  • Wednesday – Notes on Solving by factoring (back to the quadratic homework – unit 2). HW pg 5 74 – 82. IF TIME ALLOWS, then square root method. HW 95 – 103 odd.
  • Thursday – Go over homework. Notes on Solving by completing the Square. HW 121 – 133 odd
  • Friday – Go over homework. HW: practice quiz on solving quadratic equations algebraically

Physics:

  • Monday – Finish quiz from Friday. HW pg 42: 26, 29, 30
  • Tuesday  – Go over homework and questions. Begin notes on free fall.
  • Wednesday – Finish notes and examples on free fall. HW pg 43: 34 – 37 (spot check)
  • Thursday – Go over homework.   HW pg 43: 38 – 41, 45
  • Friday – Go over homework and short quiz on vertical kinematics

Advance Algebra:

  • Monday – Go over HW: 52 – 59. Assign Review guide
  • Tuesday – Go over finished review guide (as far as students get) and assign rest of review guide.
  • Wednesday – Go over review guide. Assign practice test.
  • Thursday – Go over practice test.
  • Friday  – Test on equations

  • Talk about theme and make a list of ideas. Each student picks the theme they like and create a two page spread by Friday to “sell” their idea.
